THEATER THAT MAKES THE STREET THE STAGE

BEGINS WITH A VIOLINIST ON THE FAR SIDE OF THE STREET
(IN JUNE 2022)

As dusk falls the public meets the actors, some of whom fuss about the roles they are assigned.

Then sixteenth-century music leads everyone through the streets...

...to arrive at a passage and courtyard...

Acts with references to Shakespeare follow, like wigs that evoke the fairies of A Midsummer's Night's Dream...

...as attentive neighbors watch.

Was using the Seine as a street
for the Olympics' opening two years later
a sequel?
