The Mayor's speech the day after the upheaval of October 17, 2026

After thanking the public for responding to an announcement three hours before, Jerome Coumet said "we were all horrified and indignant" at the scenes of looting  . Then he criticized the Macron government for blaming the left, and pointed out that it had not responded to mayors' suggestions for dealing with the violence that had happened during the Yellow Vests demonstrations of 2022. He said that the mayors were meeting again and expected this time to be heard.
