THE HOSPITAL GARDEN

SERENITY IN THE HEART OF TOWN

The cathedral and esplanade were blocked off after the fire of 2019...

...but the hospital itself was open and reached by the insignificant street for traffic:

The vast lobby was usually deserted except for a guard. Going left, you came upon an entrance, glimpsed a surprise...

...and discovered an intimate traditional garden:

The unpruned hedges recall the vegetation around the Sleeping Beauty's castle, making the garden all the more evocative of peace.

Then the garden was closed 

to the few outsiders who knew of it.

At least it was not made into a luxury hotel

as was rumored for a time.
